Easter Pics

Aleigha's 1st Easter

Wow Easter has come and gone. I was so excited for Aleigha's first Easter and it was so much fun. On Saturday my Mom & Dad went with us to the Boardwalk for an Easter Egg Hunt. It was so cute watching her carry her Easter basket around putting her eggs in it like she really knew what she was doing. After the egg hunt we went to meet the Easter Bunny. Well that didn't go to great. At first I tried handing her to him so we could get a picture. All 4 limbs went out like a scared wet cat and then came the scream, she was hysterical. So after we got her calmed down I held her and stood next to him & that was ok. After that we all went back to our house to dye eggs. She didn't quite know what was going on but she kept watching & looking at us like she was so interested. Sunday when she woke up we took her in the living room & when she seen what the Easter Bunny had brought she pointed, screamed & started smiling and screaming so big. It was a great feeling seeing her so happy. We all went to my Granny's for lunch and a small egg hunt for the babies. It was a really good weekend. We couldn't of had a better first Easter with Aleigha. I'll post pictures tonight!

12 month check-up

Wow, this year went by so fast. Last Friday I took Aleigha for her 12 month check up. Just 1 year ago she was 7 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long, now she is 22 lbs. 5 oz. and 30 inches "tall". I have enjoyed watching her turn into the unique little individual that she is, she can be so funny and also so serious. She has so much personality. I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us. We have a big weekend ahead of us with Easter egg hunts & dying eggs. I can't wait. It's Aleigha's first Easter so I'm very excited. Also, Sunday night was the first time for Aleigha to stay away from home. She spent the night with my parents & it was awful. We didn't know at the time but she was getting an ear infection & cried all night long. My mom just thought it was because she wanted me. We found out different the next day when I took her to the doctor. Well tonight we are trying it again. I hope it goes much better. I hated leaving her tonight but me and Henry do need alone time and I have a "girl's weekend" trip to Beaver's Bend in a few weeks so I have to get her used to staying the night with Mamaw & Papaw.

First Birthday

I can't believe it has been a year. I am one of those mom's I thought I would never be, wanting to cry over their kid's milestones. It is so bittersweet. I guess the saying "the only time you have complete control over them is the nine months they are inside you" is completely true. From the day they are born it is a letting go process, and them finding their independant self. So true, and so hard. Also a lot of pride. Even though she is getting bigger, walkig, talking & trying to feed herself she will always be my lil' monkey. Here's a few pictures from her "big day"

Aleigha's 1st Birthday Portraits

Well it was a good weekend. Yesterday I went & picked up Aleigha's 1st birthday portraits and then me & her went shopping to get the rest of the stuff I needed for her party coming up this weekend. She had a good day...she loves going & doing. We bought some patio furniture about a week ago but Henry had surgery so he hasn't been able to do anything with it. Well today he decided he was feeling better & brought the chairs inside to put together. While we were sitting in the kitchen Aleigha was playing in the livingroom, we heard something & looked, she was walking full force towards us & hasn't stopped since. She had been taking a few steps in between people so it was exciting seeing her walk everywhere. We can't slow her down now, she already thinks she's a pro at it.

Growing up so fast...

We went this weekend and had Aleigha's 1st birthday pictures done. It's so sad, my baby is fixing to turn 1. I honestly dont know how to feel about it, everything goes by so fast. The pictures turned out so good. I'll post some when they come back. We got Aleigha a PBK chair for part of her birthday but we gave it to her this weekend because we couldn't wait. She loves it, she climbs in and out of it and will turn around & smile real big like she's a big girl. Yesterday she started getting sick, her allergies are just so bad & her nose want stop running so our weekend didn't end so well.
