Easter Pics

Aleigha's 1st Easter

Wow Easter has come and gone. I was so excited for Aleigha's first Easter and it was so much fun. On Saturday my Mom & Dad went with us to the Boardwalk for an Easter Egg Hunt. It was so cute watching her carry her Easter basket around putting her eggs in it like she really knew what she was doing. After the egg hunt we went to meet the Easter Bunny. Well that didn't go to great. At first I tried handing her to him so we could get a picture. All 4 limbs went out like a scared wet cat and then came the scream, she was hysterical. So after we got her calmed down I held her and stood next to him & that was ok. After that we all went back to our house to dye eggs. She didn't quite know what was going on but she kept watching & looking at us like she was so interested. Sunday when she woke up we took her in the living room & when she seen what the Easter Bunny had brought she pointed, screamed & started smiling and screaming so big. It was a great feeling seeing her so happy. We all went to my Granny's for lunch and a small egg hunt for the babies. It was a really good weekend. We couldn't of had a better first Easter with Aleigha. I'll post pictures tonight!

12 month check-up

Wow, this year went by so fast. Last Friday I took Aleigha for her 12 month check up. Just 1 year ago she was 7 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long, now she is 22 lbs. 5 oz. and 30 inches "tall". I have enjoyed watching her turn into the unique little individual that she is, she can be so funny and also so serious. She has so much personality. I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us. We have a big weekend ahead of us with Easter egg hunts & dying eggs. I can't wait. It's Aleigha's first Easter so I'm very excited. Also, Sunday night was the first time for Aleigha to stay away from home. She spent the night with my parents & it was awful. We didn't know at the time but she was getting an ear infection & cried all night long. My mom just thought it was because she wanted me. We found out different the next day when I took her to the doctor. Well tonight we are trying it again. I hope it goes much better. I hated leaving her tonight but me and Henry do need alone time and I have a "girl's weekend" trip to Beaver's Bend in a few weeks so I have to get her used to staying the night with Mamaw & Papaw.

First Birthday

I can't believe it has been a year. I am one of those mom's I thought I would never be, wanting to cry over their kid's milestones. It is so bittersweet. I guess the saying "the only time you have complete control over them is the nine months they are inside you" is completely true. From the day they are born it is a letting go process, and them finding their independant self. So true, and so hard. Also a lot of pride. Even though she is getting bigger, walkig, talking & trying to feed herself she will always be my lil' monkey. Here's a few pictures from her "big day"
