Update for Heart Appointment

Aleigha's heart check-up appointment went well Friday. Dr. J said she has received her diploma from the heart clinic. There were no signs of the murmur anymore & he said she was healthy as a horse. But I had to snap a few shots while we were there.

Heart Appointment

Last year at Aleigha's 1 month check-up her pediatrician informed us that she "heard" something & was pretty sure it was a heart murmur. She scheduled Aleigha an appointment with one of the few pediatric heart doctors in Shreveport so we waited a long 2 months before we could get in. I think I was more nervous during these few months than I had ever been. Even though Dr. H had said that it was probably nothing & even if it was a heart murmur that it would probably not cause any problems & eventually go away. Well she was right, at Aleigha's heart appointment, the doctor said that it was an "innocent" heart murmur & by the time she was a year old it would probably be gone so he would just see us back then. That brings us to date, her appointment is tomorrow & I'm praying that it is gone but at the same time I feel so much guilt. I follow some very sad blogs, that are absolutely heartbreaking. To hear of all the struggle & pain they go through is awful. Their babies suffer from very serious heart, lung, etc... conditions and to read some of these blogs is so touching because the parents seem so strong while dealing with everything they have on their plate & I'm not so sure I would be as strong as they are. All I can do is pray for these families & I do, but here I am wishing Aleigha's appointment goes well tomorrow that just consist of an innocent heart murmur, and that is why I feel so guilty. I thank God everyday for giving me a healthy baby!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Here's a little peak at what we haven't been up to.

Today I am just not feeling it so I would never be blogging at work, nope Not me!

I did not let Aleigha eat cookies for lunch the other day because she wouldn't eat anything else. Nope, Not me! I would never ever let her do that. I did not forget to put sunscreen on the girls (that their mother sent specifically for them to use anytime they were outside) yesterday while we were at the splash pad. Aleigha wasn't into the splash pad that much so I did not let her sit on the towels (diaperless in her bathing suit) and pee everywhere and I most certainly did not let the other kids dry off with those same towels because that's all we had. Nope, Not me!

I have not been horribly slacking on my diet and my workouts for the last week. I have not, not worked out pretty much for the last two weeks even though I promised myself to walk atleast a mile every day.

And I most certainly did not put Aleigha in her highchair with a sucker so I could clean the kitchen without her tagging on my leg. Nope, Not me!

Last but not least, I am not going home to send all the kids outside to play while I cook dinner, so I can have peace & quiet (even though I got a phone call a little while ago from the oldest saying that the youngest 4 had been fighting & arguing all day and I made it clear that they would not get to play outside this afternoon).

Happy Not Me, everyone!

Full Week of Fun in the Sun

Henry's nieces & nephews stayed with us for a week, yes that's 5 extra kids in our household for a solid week. Last weekend we stayed busy. On Saturday we packed lunches & headed to the park all afternoon. My bestfriend, Arleen, joined us with her two boys, CJ & Brayden. Everyone had a great time, even Aleigha, being that she didn't get much of a nap. On Sunday we took them downtown to the splash pad to play around in the water. The bigger kids had a blast however Aleigha wasn't to fond of water splashing up all over her. She enjoyed watching from the sideline with Momma & Daddy. It was a nice sunny weekend spent outside with all kids in tow. They loved the splash pad so much we took them back afternoon after work.

Sunny Day, Sweepin' the clouds away

Saturday night Aleigha stayed the night with my Mom & Dad and Sunday I went and spent the day as well. Henry had a softball tournament so he didn't go. Lil Ray & Tyler came over as well and Aleigha & Tyler spent the day swimming in her little pool and playing outside. It was a nice sunny day.

Tyler being silly!

Having fun, can't you tell?

Nana came to visit

Aleigha's Nana came in from Alabama this past weekend. She stayed with us Friday night. Aleigha talks to her on the phone (or shall I say listens quietly) so she knew who she was when she started talking. It was cute that she recognized her. On Saturday Nana cooked breakfast for us & then we did a little shopping. Before we left to go shopping Nana was getting ready & put her wig on. Well let's just say that it freaked Aleigha out a little bit. She was slowly backing up away from her until she got as close as she could to me. She knew it was still Nana but something just wasn't right. We laughed so hard cause Aleigha just didn't know what to think. Saturday afternoon we had to meet Andrea (Henry's sister) to take her back, it was a nice visit but very short. We wish she could of stayed longer but people gotta work right? Henry's nieces (Kiana-6 & Zahria-5) are coming this weekend to stay a week with us. We only get to see them 3 or 4 times a year so I'm excited! Aleigha needs to get to know her cousins. Hopefully we'll spend lots of time at my parents swimming and at the park.
