Today our little love turns 16 months. She is such a joy to be around lately (well not that she isn't normally) but lately she has been the most giddy happy baby around. She thinks everything is so funny. She has gotten lots better at playing by herself, not needing me sitting with her every moment to have a good time. She is growing like a weed also. All of her 12 month bottoms still fit but the tops are a different story. Some still fit however others stop at her belly button :) My parents kept her this past weekend & went they brought her home I promise it seemed as if she had grown 4 inches. She is kind of coming out of her food strike, starting to eat more. She loves blueberries, plums, cantaloupe, strawberry-banana applesauce, apple yogurt & last night I learned that she loves ranch dressing. She knows all of her outter body parts. She also knows simple instructions as her daycare teacher has told me. When Aleigha is being bad, she tells her to go to timeout & Aleigha does just that...she goes to the corner. Sad but cute, my poor baby getting put in timeout .

Pray for Stellan

I follow a blog here on blogger known as My Charming Kids or you may have heard of MckMama. Well her little boy Stellan has a heart condition that makes his heart beat too fast at times. I follow her on Twitter and from her recent tweets, found out he is not doing well. He is in SVT (rapid heart beat aka Supraventricular Tachycardia) Please send up words of strength, healing, knowledge and health for Stellan. This sweet baby boy needs all the prayer he can get.
Always praying for Stellan in Louisiana!!

The Wash
Last week we got Aleigha this cool little blow up car wash but haven't had the time to blow it up until this weekend. While Daddy worked outside I blowed it up for her and, well, let's just she kinda liked it. It didn't help that it was cool outside, well cool for us being in the upper 80's. I didn't take the time to put her bathing suit on her, I just let her play in the water in her clothes. But when I pushed her under "The Wash" on her tricyle, she looked at me with those sad eyes, with water sprinling all over her like please getmeouttahererightnow. It'll be back to our normal, upper 90's, soon enough & the water will be warmer again so maybe she'll like "The Wash" a little better.

4th of July
For the 4th we spent time at my uncle's house in the country. We swam, played volleyball, grilled and ate homeade ice cream. Lots of my family were there & we had a great time. Later in the evening we headed home to get ready because Henry's family & a few friends came to town to go with us downtown to see the fireworks. I thought Aleigha would be scared but she was so excited & pointing once they started. She loved it! We all had a great 4th of July!

Baby girl's 15 month check-up
Last Thursday was a busy day and it was time again to take Aleigha to the doctor. We didn't have to wait long before being called back, but much to my surprise expecting to go straight towards the room the nurse stopped us at the "big kid" scale. Yep that's right, we no longer have to strip her down naked & wrap her in those uncomfortable screeching pads & transport her out to a room full of other nurses & doctors to be weighed. But she was a good sport. She got up on the scale weighing in at 24 lbs (50th percentile). Once back in the room she was measured at 31 1/2" tall (60th percentile)and head circumfrence at 18 1/2" (60th percentile). So she is still in good proportion. Dr. H noted that she was advanced for her age because of how many words she knew, and her great fine motor skills. I’m very proud. She got three painful immunizations in her little arms & thigh. We were both brave but she did cry scream for a while from the pain & shock. She got a sucker for being so good & quickly forgot about all the trauma. Some other things you might like to know...she can point out her nose, eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, piggys (toes) & her belly button. She loves Malt-o-meal, apple yogurt, glazed carrots, cheetos, peaches, plums, oranges & french toast. She absolutely loves to be outside and she loves to stay the night with Mamaw & Papaw.
