I haven't posted in so long & need to get

caught up! I'll just start where I left off

and it'll mostly be pictures :) The past few months

have just been so busy with the holidays, and

going to the inlaws for almost 2 weeks and then

school started back for me but, YAY, this is my

last semester of clinicals & I graduate in May!

Ok, so here we go....

Miss priss found not 1 but 2 of her Christmas

presents in November. After the first one, we just

laughed. Both were board games so she immediately

wanted to play them! Next year we'll go back to

putting stuff in the attic :)

I think she redecorated it quite a few times before Christmas!

The weather was nice in November so we spent

alot of time outside!

My little cousins birthday was in November & we all

went & had a blast.

I think they went down this slide over & over again!

Sadly one of the most important days in November is Thanksgiving

and I got NO pictures. I dont think I even go one, but we had

alot of fun spending it with family and I went Black Friday shopping

with my Mom! The next day was when my sis-in-law had Tripp

and I wrote about that here!

Tripp's Birthday

My nephew decided to come a month early but was

still healthy other than some respiratory problems.

He was in the NICU a few days but recovered well

and is doing great.

My brother has been so sweet & loving with Tripp!

Finally getting to feed him!

And we were at their house when he finally got to come home

and Aleigha has been head over hills in love since.

She loves Tripp like he's her own brother

& she's quite stingy with him too! :)

Disney Live

A few weeks ago we took Aleigha to Disney Live

and she was so excited.

As soon as we go there she had to have Snow White,

her favorite!

And the the fun began. I loved this show & all

the princesses.

Dancing to the music :)

It got a little cold so Daddy was warming her up.

We had such a good time, i hope they come back

next year.

Pumpkins

We didn't carve pumpkins this year instead we just

decorated a few. Aleigha painted some pumpkins

and when she saw this "Woody" pumpkin

push in she had to have it!

And I must say I think it turned out adorable.

I found this cute little cat pumpkin sticker kit

and she had fun decorating her little pumpkin.

I'm sure we'll carve a pumpkin next year, but this

worked for us this year!

Tuesdays

Tuesdays just happen to be Aleighas's

favorite day of the week & the first

Tuesday of the month is my favorite because

the last 15 minutes of class is"watch day"!

She is always so excited but once we get in there

she sticks her fingers in her mouth & acts so shy!

Supposed to be doing a toe touch but she wouldn't

do it. She did warm up a little when it was time

to tap.

Getting some **pretend** pink sparkly nails

to stomp on!

And there she goes stomping those nails!

Here teachers said it's normal that half the class

acts so shy because all the parents are in there

watching and assured us that she dances her heart

out when it's just them in there. And I believe them

because at home she shows us everything she is learning.

All we have to do is turn on some music & she dances away!

These pictures make my heart so happy. I love seeing

my little girl dance!

Trick-or-Treat

We had so much fun trick-or-treating

Halloween night! First we stopped at

my Pops!

I think she liked this stop best because he gave

money instead of candy :)

Then we headed to town to meet some friends and

we trick-or-treated for 2 hours.

Once we got home she poured it all out & was going

through it all. I couldn't get over her excitement

of all that candy. She was trying to count it & then

she just gave up!

It was such a fun night!

I figured this would be something Aleigha would

She had the best time so I promised i would buy

Pumpkin Patch 2011

I know I've been missing for awhile

but it has been so hard to find time to blog &

honestly we didnt have much going on in

September. Nursing school keeps me

super busy but I passed my test last week

so I'm moving on to Pediatrics. Now what

we've been up too....

We have been enjoying this nice Fall

weather and last weekend we headed to the

pumpkin patch.

She was more excited about the balloons

& face painting than the pumpkins!

I thought this little growth chart was cute.

You get to see how much you grow each

year at the pumpkin patch.

Birthday Parties

We've had quite a few birthday parties this summer

and this past weekend was our friends little girl

Harleigh.

They had a water slide and it was a huge hit!

Sweet Summertime

We have been making the most of our summer

and spending time with friends whenever we

have the chance. We've also been trying to beat

the heat like most of the country. In order

to be outside water almost always has to be involved.

Addi came over one afternoon to play and we

enjoyed her so much. She's such a sweetie

and her & Aleigha play much better than they

did when they were a little smaller.

It rained ONE day for a short time and miss priss

wanted her bathing suit on & her rain boots and boy

did she have a good time!

We went to eat and out for ice cream one night with

friends and afterwards they came over to play. Nevaeh

and Aleigha played pretty well together for a 3 year age

difference and while they played us adults play

Yahtzee :)

Someone Came to Visit

My cousin Victoria came to visit one day last week

and someone was super excited. Our house is about

half way from where she lives & where she is about

to start college so she came to stay the night. Aleigha

absolutely adores her!

One of the first things she wanted to do with

Victoria was play makeup.

It was so cute watching them play!

Swim Like a Fish

Swimming lessons ended yesterday and I'm

kind of sad about it. I enjoyed taking Aleigha

everyday and she loved it too.

She did have a bad day yesterday, I'm not sure

what was going on but she cried and didn't really

want to participate but we made her stick to it.

Here she is with her certificate!

And they got a prize for finishing, everybody

loves popsicles!

Were so proud of her and what she accomplished

and we cant wait to do it again next year!

Painting

It's been so hot lately that some afternoons Aleigha

just doesn't want to go outside and play. So

yesterday I got out her paint and a canvas

and let her work her magic.

She loves painting!

And getting it all over the place :)

I seen this little 4th of July project on Pinterest

and thought it would be fun to do with Aleigha.

Ours didn't turn out as cute but I love it and

she had a blast doing it.

It is on display in the kitchen right now!

I hope everyone is having a great week. We have a

busy weekend ahead of us but I'm looking forward to it!

Father's Day

On Saturday we all went to the Farmer's Market

downtown and after that we went to my parents

to swim. Later that afternoon my Mom said yall

should of just planned to stay the night since your

coming right back tomorrow for Father's Day so

that's exactly what we did. They only live about 20

minutes from us but it's something so peaceful about

being there.

Henry & my Dad were going fishing

that afternoon so we gave them their Father's Day

presents a day early :) They fish alot so new

fishing poles were perfect and they loved them.

It was only fitting for Miss Priss to go get hers

as well.

My Mom made the Pioneer Woman's

white chicken enchiladas and they were

yummy! After eating lunch we spent rest of

the afternoon playing in the pool and relaxing.

Pop just hung out in the shade :) It was

such a great Father's Day weekend!

Swiming Lessons

We decided to put Aleigha in swimming lessons

this year and I am so glad we did. She loves to

swim but has never been to fond of going underwater

but now she is a little fish.

She will now go under water and swim. We are so

proud of her and she's only been doing lessons

a week.

She also has no problem jumping off the side of

the pool or better yet the diving board.

My baby is getting so big but we are

so very proud of her!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day didn't go as expected around here

but it was still perfect. Aleigha has pneumonia

so we knew that we would be staying in instead of

going with my Mom to see my Granny. My parents

did come by for a few minutes on their way so atleast

I got to see her but it's not the same as spending the day

with her but I did get to spend the day with that special

little girl that calls me Mommy.

I've been saying for a while that I wanted Hydrangea's

and Henry & Aleigha got me a plant and I absolutely

love it. I can't wait to plant it. They also got me

Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by The Pioneer Woman

and I was excited about thas as well. I can't wait

to start reading it.

So we had a low key day of staying home

in pajamas all day so there aren't many pictures

to share. We ordered Mexican food for dinner

and just laid around being lazy!

Easter Festivities

I know I am super late on posting this stuff but

better late than never. Before Easter we went

to an egg hunt with friends at the church and

the kids had so much fun. They had lots of different

activities for the kids to do before the hunt began.

Here is Aleigha working on her sticker sheet above

and below is a foam picture frame we made and

she was so proud of it.

The Easter bunny was there also but let's just say

that she was less than interested in him.

On to the egg hunt. They had so much fun finding eggs

for all about 3 minutes. They hid the eggs right

on the playground so Aleigha & Grisham were

all about playing and less about egg hunting but

they had fun & that's all that matters.

After that we went to lunch at Chik-fil-a and there

was a balloon guy there making all the kids different

things.

It was alot of fun & I'm so glad Kelly & Grisham invited

us to go with them. Later that day they came over

to my mom & dads and we hid eggs for the kids again

and they were able to concentrate on egg hunting a litle more

instead of playing :)

Aleigha's Sweet Shoppe

For Aleigha's birthday we decided to go with

a "Sweet Shoppe" theme since she loves

anything & everything sweet. I'm so glad we

did because she loved it! I know this post is really

late but my life has been taken over by clinicals and

it seems like I have no time for anything.

Better late than never right :)

with the banner & all but there were about 5 of my best

pictures that messed up so this is one half of the table

The food table: sandwiches cut out like flowers, chocolate

chip cookie dough dip with graham crackers & animal cookies,

& fruit kabobs. We also wrapped the utensils and napkins

with candy bracelets but that pic was messed up also but you can

see them in the bottom right of this pic

Three years ago today I had no idea how

much our lives were about to change.

I can't even believe that it's been 3 years

since we were blessed with you. You

are growing up entirely to fast but I love

every second of it. I had no idea how much

I could love until I had you and until you have kids

of your own you want understand just how

much that is. I thank God every day for

blessing us with such a precious gift. You mean everything

to us sweet girl and we can't wait to watch you grow another year!

Laying Low

The title explains exactly what we have been doing this week.

Laying Low!

After two weeks of non-stop sickness the sweet pea

is finally back to her fun loving self and we have

been taking it easy this week. Mamaw and Papaw

let her bring this train home that was Tyler's when

he was smaller and she LOVES it. I tried convincing her

to put it in her room but no, it is smack dab in the middle

of the living room but it keeps her entertained. It makes

all kind of train noises & sings the ABC's.

Our nights are filled with long bubble baths!

All ready for daycare.

And it rained that day so when she got home she

grabbed her rubber boots and wanted to splash in

the mud puddles.

Yesterday was the first Mardi Gras parade around here.It's

pretty much a family tradition for us and the weather

was so nice. The kids played and flew kites. We caught

lots of beads, cups & other things. The first thing Aleigha

said when she woke up this morning, with her eyes still

barely shut was "Mommy I wanna go back to the parade."

I think she had fun!

Sick Valentine

Yesterday morning I sent Aleigha off to daycare with

all of her goodies for their Valentine's Day party.

Only to get a call that she was coughing non stop all

morning so they thought maybe I could just give

hear a breathing treatment and she would be fine,

and not miss her party. Not the case yesterday.

I had to go to school for a test that I couldn't miss

so my mom was going to take her to the doctor for me.

Well her coughing got so bad that she couldn't breath

and started throwing up so my mom took her straight

to quick care because the doctors office was closed

for lunch. She ended up having Croup :( She fell

asleep on the way home and selpt all afternoon so it

was almost 7 last night before we were able to give her

Valentine's to her.

Since Christmas just passed and her birthday is next

month there isn't much that Aleigha needs so I

thought fixing her a little basket of things that she

was out of or getting low on would be fun for her.

And she loved it!

She got some baby alive diapers and food, new play-doh,

crayons, dry erase crayons (these things are so neat),

coloring books, stickers (her favorite), water paint,

bubbles and crayola bath dropz! And of course

some candy!

She was so excited going through her stuff.

I'm just glad my little monkey is feeling a little better.

She's still coughing some this morning but it's not as bad.

The steroid prescription must be kicking in because she's

been up since 6:30 playing with play-doh. :)

Catch up

School has been keeping me so busy that

I hardly have time to blog. I'm in my psych

rotation so clinicals have been very interesting

so far. I spend lots of time studying and doing

clinical paperwork and it's only been a few weeks

and I'm already ready for a break :)

But when this little monkey gets home from daycare

my attention goes to her. She is such a little

ham. here she is wearing my water boots.

She always has to feed her babies.

We went to my cousin's ballgame last weekend and

Aleigha wanted some candy. I told her she didn't

need any right then and she decided to pout.

Ok looks like Mamaw made it all better. Love that smile!

We played dress up one afternoon and I must

say that she's the cutest princess I've ever

seen :) But I may be a little biased.

On Sunday Aleigha started running fever and woke

up during the night saying her ear hurt. Well I had

class Monday so my parents took her to the doctor

and she had a very bad ear infection. I'm so thankful

I have my parents to lean on when I'm at school and

Henry is at work but I really hate leaving her when

she's sick. It was cute though, she kept telling us that

"her fever hurt". She is feeling much better

now & back to her silly self.

Crafts

Since we've been stuck inside for days now due to

the rain we have been working on some crafts.

I see lots of crafts on blogs & if it's something

that I think Aleigha would like we try it out.

At daycare they do a letter of the week in her

class so I'm trying to work on that same letter

with her at home. This week at school they

are working on the letter R so we made some

Rainbow R's!

all you need is glue (Aleigha's favorite part) and

some construction paper!

She had alot of fun with this. I would tell her which

color to get & she would lay it down.

Let them dry & cut them out and there you have it!

I also seen a cute little Valentine's mobile and

thought it would be cute to make & hang in her

room so I got out some construction paper &

thread & we got to work. I think it turned out cute!

Back on Schedule

Since our snow last week has faded and

gone far away the rain has come and will not

seem to stop. So we've had lots of time

playing inside and dressing up and playing

barbies and toenail painting.

With clinicals starting back up tomorrow I've

been trying to soak up all the time I can with Henry

and Aleigha. I am nervous and excited to start 2nd

level but I know I can do it. When Aleigha got home

Friday afternoon we made a little Valentine's banner.

I had planned on hanging it in her room but she insisted

it be hung in the kitchen.

On Saturday we headed to my parents to spend the day.

My dad is finally home for a few days and the kids

loved wrestling & playing with him.

These pictures make me smile because there are some

just like these of me & my brother when we

were younger wrestling with my Dad on the

living room floor. :)

Pretty much we had a lazy weekend full of movies,

football and staying in pajamas all day. But now

it's time to get organized and back on schedule with

school starting tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great

week!

Snow Day

On Monday we had a snow day down here

in Louisiana. It's very rare for us but when it

does happen we love it.

We went outside to play a little right when it

started.

Aleigha wasn't to sure about it at first and didn't like

that it was accumulating on her swingset.

She had fun while we were out there but it didn't last

long. She was ready to go back inside.

So we went in & made peanut butter cookies and

hot chocolate to warm up. :)

I wish we had more snowy days down here. I follow so

many blogs from up north & the snow is beautiful but

let me tell you, when we get a little snow around here

people freak out so maybe it's best that ours only

comes every few years, ha!

Christmas Day

After spending Christmas morning at home we loaded

up & headed to my Granny's house in the country to

spend time with family. It was nice getting to relax

and visit with family. Aleigha loved playing with her

birthday cake that my Granny got her. It was a hit with

all of the kids.

Late that afternoon we headed home because Henry's

family was on their way. The fun continued. Aleigha

had so much fun playing with her cousins.

And we got to spend lots of time with Henry's mom.

I wish they lived closer but for now we just soak up the

time we have with them.

Nana got her a little scooter!

The kids went crazy opening gifts. It was a mad house,

they were all so excited.

And then it was time to get a game of Wii Bowling

going. Aleigha even had to get in on the action.

And then all the kids danced to the Michael Jackson

Wii game. I loved it. It was so cute watching them try

to do all of his moves.

We had such a great week while they were here and was

so sad when it was time for the to go home!

Christmas Morning

I was so excited for Christmas morning because I knew

this is the first year that Aleigha actually got the whole

Santa is coming deal. She didn't even know what to

think when she came in & seen what Santa left. We

had such a fun morning playing with all of her

new toys. Santa knew she had outgrown all of

her baby toys & he was extra nice this year.

She just stood there for a minute when she first walked in there.

She loved her new backpack!

And her Tinkerbell tutu & wings!

But I think her favorite is her baby doll highchair and

baby alive doll that you feed. We play with this every

single day.

Papaw went back to work so Mamaw & Pop stopped

by to see what Santa brought!

We had such a great Christmas morning at home playing

with our little monkey. But then we had to get ready & head

down to my Grannys house for Christmas lunch and family time.

I'll post more about that later.

Christmas Eve

What a rough few weeks it has been. Right after Christmas

Aleigha & I got sick with the flu & we stayed sick

for 10 darn days. Like couldn't get out of bed sick.

On top of the flu we had a little virus along with it.

Needless to say we are doing alot better and so happy

to have the flu behind us so I'm trying to play catch up

on some Christmas post.

Christmas Eve morning we all gathered in the kitchen

to make some cookies for Santa.

Mamaw came over & helped us decorate also.

Now were all ready for Santa to come.

That evening we went to my parents to celebrate with

them and we had so much fun. We grilled steak and

chicken, and had baked potatoes and salad, it was

so yummy. After that we all opened gifts and Aleigha

helped every single one of us with our gifts. It was so

cute. We were all blessed with so much thanks to my parents.

Aleigha loved her talking Woody the best.

Later that night we headed home to get one little

monkey snugged in the bed so Santa could come!

Making Muffins

Aleigha loves being in the kitchen when I am and the

other day she wanted a snack. She ran to the pantry

and came back with a pack of muffin mix and

said "I want to make these mommy"

So we got out her little cupcake set, my brother got

it for her last year for Christmas and it is the cutest thing.

Everything is "mini".

And we baked away.

Her favorite part is filling the baking cups up.

She tells me "no Mommy I do it". Alrighty big

girl, go right ahead!

Less than 10 minutes later we were eating away!

Christmas Picture 2010

You may remember from last year that

picture taking is not Aleigha's thing. Well she

gave us a run for our money this year as well.

We couldn't get her to smile at all and this is

the best we could get out of her after

almost an hour of being there. Aleigha

was giving us the blues this day but I'm sure

we'll look back and laugh soon enough!

I think we'll be going to see Santa sometime

this weekend. I've been prepping Aleigha for

a few weeks now but I'm not sold that she'll

willingly sit on his lap. She keeps saying she will.

Countdown to Christmas 2010

I thought I would link up to Liz's Countdown to Christmas

over at Sugarplum Creations. These first 2 weeks of December

have flown by but yesterday was my last day of school

until January so I'm hoping things will slow down a bit

and I can soak up the rest of the holidays!

Last Thursday we made Aleigha's Hershey Advent

Calendar and she loved it. I did most of the work and

she ate most of the candy. :)

On Friday night we went to my parents house and decorated

a gingerbread house. They had fun doing this but again

it was more fun to eat the candy as evidenced in the below

picture. You can see little miss putting candy in her mouth.

The kids also helped Papaw get the train set up around

the Christmas tree.

Saturday would have to be my favorite. We loaded up

with my parents, brother & nephew

and drove 2 hours to Palastine, TX to ride

The Polar Express.

I'm hoping we can make

this a tradition every year. It was so much fun.

The adults loved it as much as the kiddos.

There wasn't anything Christmasy about Sunday but we still

had lots of fun. It was my nephews birthday party at Party Central.

There was lots of game playing, cake eating, sliding

& go-kart riding. I can't believe my little man is 6 now.

Monday night Aleigha & I finished decorating the tree.

I had to be very patient and remember that this

moment only comes once a year because as fast

as I was putting ornaments on she was taking them

off :)

Tuesday we did a craft. One cute little

girl and some paint later and you have

the sweetest little pillow!

Last night we got in our pajamas and rode around looking

Holiday Cheer

Aleigha can be such a little ham. After I put

her pajamas on the other night she got

so excited because Santa was on them. She

was running around and being super silly.

And lets not mention the matching hat.

She L.O.V.E.D. it!

She was asking for it in her sleep during

the night and even wore it to daycare the

next day. I love how she relates things.

She got a plastic Santa from my parents

house but doesn't call it Santa. She refers

to it and every other Santa as a

Christmas! :)

We are headed to Texas this afternoon

to ride The Polar Express and I am

so excited. Hope everyone is having a

great weekend!

Thanksgiving Weekend

It seems like the days are just flying by and I need

it to slow down a little. I want to enjoy December

and soak up Christmas time with Aleigha but

life is so busy these days. Thanksgiving was great.

We spent time with my Moms family at my Granny's

house. I dont know why but I didn't take many pics,

didn't even get a family pic of us.

Here is Aleigha & my brother...Aleigha was being

shy with everyone as usual.

But then she started warming up and played outside

with the kids. Do you see the chocolate pie all around

her mouth?

I went shopping with my Mom, Granny and my mom's

sisters Black Friday and it was alot of fun. I was

just there to tag along because we are just about

done with Christmas shopping. There was lots

of craziness but we had a good time and didn't get home

until midnight!

On Saturday Henry put up outside decorations and

lights & Aleigha and I decorated the little tree

in her room and she loves it!

Yesterday we had a birthday party to attend at

Chuck E Cheese and Aleigha had fun playing

all the games.

I heard about "birfday cake" all day and let me

tell you she ate a plate full.

Now if I can get through the next 2 weeks I will have

a nice little break from school for a few weeks and

get to enjoy the holidays! I hope everyone has a

great week.

It's kind of crazy to be talking about Christmas when we

haven't even had Thanksgiving yet. I love both holidays but

I am excited about sending out Christmas cards. I had never sent

out cards before but once Aleigha was born we started doing

them every year. I love trying to get the perfect picture of Aleigha

for our cards but that rarely happens but our families don't really

care if she's smiling or not they just like receiving a card!

I have always browsed Shutterfly but never ending up using them, I always

seem to use someone close to home but this year I am expanding out!

I even plan on using Shutterfly.com to purchase photo books and everyday prints

in the near future. And just a few months after the holiday's we'll be

celebrating a special little girls birthday and Shutterfly has a great

selection of birthday invites as well.

When I was browsing all of the Christmas cards at

Shutterfly.com I couldn't believe all of the options.

Tea Parties & Toe Nails

Aleigha is growing so fast and becoming quite

the little girly girl. She will get down in the dirt

and play cars with Tyler but she LOVES all

things girly. Two of her favorite things are

tea parties & painting finger/toenails!

Trick-or-Treat

Oh my did we have fun trick-or-treating!

This was the first year that Aleigha "got it" and

let me tell you that once she realized you say

trick-or-treat you get candy in return she was

in Heaven. We went with friends & family on a

hayride around town and had so much fun.

I enjoyed watching Aleigha go from house to

house saying trick-or-treat. One house was

even giving out hot dogs. We came home

with so much candy and Aleigha was one

happy Little Red Riding Hood!

Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

Heart Walk

If you remember me posting from this summer

my Dad had a few heart attacks and had triple

bypass surgery. Well this weekend was the

American Heart Association Walk for 2010

and we were proud to walk. It started off

to be a cold morning but ended up being the

perfect day.

The walk was 3 miles but as he was making a turn

he seen us and cut across so he ended up walking

almost 4 miles. We were very proud of him!

A Little Update

Talk about a bloggy break. I haven't updated in so long

that I'm kind of ashamed. I have kept up with everyone's

blogs but rarely comment and I know I should do better.

I'm in first level nursing clinicals and boy let me tell ya.

I feel like all I do is study and spend time with Aleigha.

Speaking of Aleigha, she is quite the character lately.

She says and does some of the craziest stuff. For example...

We buy chocolate syrup to put in her milk sometimes, well I

bought the strawberry kind for her to try. She is used

to saying chocolate milk so when she wants the strawberry

she'll say "i want strawberry chocolate milk". I try to explain

that she doesn't have to put the chocolate in there b/c it's just

strawberry milk so needless to say we are constantly

laughing at her. The last few months

seem as if they flew by. We haven't been up to much.

Mainly spending time with family & friends when

we get a chance.

Aleigha loves playing dress up. She doesn't care

if it's make up or nail polish, she wants it on!

We went out of town to see Henry's family last weekend

and I put some makeup on her because we weren't going

anywhere. She thought she was something else!

We also celebrated Henry's 27th birthday a

few weeks ago.

Oh yeah, we are also in potty training mode around here

too. She is catching on but still doesn't have the hang of

it just yet. We're trying not to be to pushy and just

let her adjust on her own schedule. Hopefully in

the next few weeks we'll have it under control.

I promise to update more often, I've just got to get

on a better schedule. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Were participating in the American Heart Association walk

tomorrow morning. I'm excited to go and support since

everything that went on with my Dad the last few months.

Once my dad got out of ICU we were able to take

Aleigha to visit him. She wasn't to sure at first but

she warmed up a little.

We bought Papaw some candy & balloons!

Other than frequent trips to the hospital we spent

time dancing in the rain....

and going to the park.

We got out her carwash from last year and she

enjoyed that.

One afternoon we were playing outside and

she wanted in her sand/water table so I

let her. She plays with this thing alot but I

think this is the longest she ever played in it.

Who knew getting in it would be so much fun!

She got wet from the water and ended up playing

in the nude :)

My friend Kelly is a Scentsy seller so I had a

party and invited friends and family and we

had so much fun. Our stuff should be in this

week and I can't wait!

My Aunt Buddy came for the party and brought

Aleigha a gift sack full of candy. She didn't know where

to start in that bag. She pulled everything out. She

loves her candy!

We also went to a skating birthday party for a friends

little girl. Here's Aleigha & Addison in their skates.

I thought they were so cute. Aleigha didn't want

them on at first but once we got them on her she

didn't want to take them off. She had alot of fun at

Harleigh's party!

That just about sums up last month...now I can try to

get back on a regular schedule of blogging. I hope

everyone is having a great week!

Long Overdue

Wow....I haven't had an actual post in over a month.

So much has happened in the last month it is unreal.

I'm going to try and sum up the last month in pictures

because this post is long overdue.

Right after the 4th of July we packed up and headed

on vacation with Henry's family. The first day we went

to Hurrican Harbor and not 10 minutes after being there

a thunderstorm hit so everyone had to leave. They did

give everyone a rain check so that was nice.

We were waiting outside the gate on everybody

and miss priss found a little spout pouring out

water and it kept her occupied.

Since the rain messed up most of our day we went

back to the hotel and swam for hours.

All of that swimming had Aleigha zonked out!

The next morning we got up and head to Six Flags!

It was so hot outside but we made the most of it

and had a great time. There weren't but maybe 7 rides

that Aleigha could actually get on but she rode them

more times than I can count.

We bout a little misting fan to keep Aleigha cool while she took a nap.

And she wasn't to fond of all the characters walking around either, as you can

tell by the look on her face :)

She loved the swings!

The next day was supposed to spent at the Dallas Aquarium

but it was under renovation so we let the kids swim all morning

and then we headed home!

The next day we celebrated the girls birthday. They

had such a good birthday. I think their American

Girl dolls were their favorites!

In the meantime I was spending most of my days

at the hospital. My dad had triple bypass surgery.

Such a scary thing to go through especially

when your dad is only 53. He got released

on the 16th, my 28th birthday, so that was enough

reason to celebrate!

Someone had to help go through all of my presents.

Here's another reason to celebrate turning

another year older :)

It's been over 2 weeks since I've blogged

and I have missed yall. So much has gone on

the last few weeks including a vacation with

the inlaws, my dad had open heart surgery,

I had a birthday & so much more. I have

tons of pictures to share but that will have to

wait, I have a busy toddler that wants to go outside

and swing. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

4th of July

We had such a fun 4th. The inlaws are in town and

my parents invited all of us to their house to celebrate.

The kids got to swim and ride the golf cart.

Instead of the normal bbq for the 4th my dad fried fish

and it was oh so yummy!

We came home and let the kids pop fireworks but

Aleigha was less than thrilled. Normally she is the

little one that isn't scared but she kept saying

"wet go in, it scare me"! She fell asleep shortly

after that and is still sleeping as I type this up.

Baby girl was tired! We are leaving in the morning

for vacation and I have lots to get done today.

We haven't been up to much lately, just alot of

spending time with family and do summer stuff.

Like jumping on the trampoline half nake with friends :)

And spending lots of time with cousins that are still

here with us. It has been fun having them here for

a month but I'm one tired Mama!

We've played in the rain

And grilled alot! Who doesn't grill in the summer?

Apparently that's all we do lately. Gotta love that corn!

We've played inside because the 110 heat index is

sometimes unbearable. We've also gone to the movies

to keep cool.

We celebrated Father's Day!

And cousin Eric from Oklahom is here & they have

bonded quite well. Growing up I was super close

with Eric's dad & 2 brothers so I love seeing how

well they clicked being we've only been

around him once before.

Bowling

Last week we took all the kids bowling and we had

such a good time.

Her first roll was enough for her, she spent the rest

of the evening just running around playing while the other

I want to take them back sometime this week/weekend

but my uncle passed away so we've had a pretty busy

week so far. I've got some shopping to do this morning

and then were headed to my parents to celebrate Father's

Day now that my Dad is home. I hope everyone is

What we've been up to

We spend most of our days swimming at my parents

or going to the spray park. With all this 95 degree weather

our days have to spent with water activities.

Cupcakes

The girls have been begging to make cupcakes so

we did just that last week. They helped me mix

everything up & then they decorated their little

hearts out!

They had alot of fun decorating them and it

was a nice indoor activity since it is so

hot these days.

eating on them when she got home

We have a few frogs that hang out on our back

patio and every afternoon Aleigha wants to go play

with them but when it comes down to it she just wants

to look and not touch.

But my nephew was here last weekend and this poor

little guy didn't stand a chance!

Aleigha is screaming right here...Tyler was trying to

pick the frog up and she didn't know if she should

be scared or excited, ha!

I love this picture, I guess she thought the rake

would save her. :)

Finally, after convincing Tyler that the frog would

not leave him with 17 warts and that it was ok he

picked him up, he went in for the catch.

And then we had to convince him to let the poor

froggy go!

Memorial Day Weekend

We started our weekend off by heading to Memphis

to pick up our nieces, they will be staying with us for

a month. So with that being a 5 hour drive we spent the

majority of Saturday in a car.

Saturday and Sunday we headed to my parents

house to do a little of this

(they all love riding the golf cart, I think it's the best

thing my parents ever bought)

And the rest of our time was spent in the pool.

I think the kids stayed in there 6 or 7 hours each

day. They are like little fish.

And little miss Zahria isn't scared of a thing either.

She'll jump in head first without a second thought.

And then there is Kiana, she's a different story. She

got a little more brave before the weekend was over

but not much.

So that's how our weekend went...lots of swimming, playing

and eating! Daddy was home an extra day so that made

the weekend even better. I hope everyone had a great

Laying Low

My little helper, before a week ago she wouldn't

touch her vacuum & now she loves it

The other day she got home from daycare & by 5 she was already

saying she wanted a bath, so we did just that and played inside all

afternoon! I didn't mind because it has been so hot here lately

so an afternoon inside was a good deal!

We had a tea party, read books and done puzzles.

It was then I realized Aleigha is learning her numbers.

She can count to ten with no problem but she was

picking each number up & telling me what it was.

I was so proud of her!

And this little guy went Monday to get his summer

haircut. He had a few tangles so they shaved him

completely. I was a little shocked when I first

got there to pick him up but I'm sure Bentley

will be much cooler now :)

So that's what we've been up to. Not to much, just laying low!

I hope everyone is having a great week! I'm looking

forward to spending this 3 day weekend with my

family. On Saturday our nieces from Alabama will be

here to spend a month with us and I'm excited.

Gone Fishing

This past weekend our nephew Dareion came to visit.

He loves fishing & so do we so we spent all day

Saturday doing just that. My parents came along also

and even though we didn't catch much we had fun.

Aleigha kept saying she wanted to touch it!

Here's Dareion with his first fish! He's already asking

to come back so he can go fishing again.

When we were looking at these pictures on the

computer last night Aleigha kept saying

"That scare me Mommy", ha!

I thought it was cute, she is the one holding the

fish but looking at it in pictures scared her.

After fishing we went to my parents to grill & swim

and that long day wore this little girl completely out!

Summer Fun

Last weekend we spent most of our time

hanging out with Tyler. Saturday we went to

the park for a few hours to let them play.

Tyler loved playing in the water, he kept trying to

get Aleigha to play with him but she wasn't having it.

She'll get in my parent's pool & doesn't want to

be held, she just wants to go at it by herself but

will not run through water spraing out of the ground!

He found some little boys to have a water war with

When we weren't playing at the park Tyler was riding

Aleigha around in her little jeep.

Since she was sick most of last week we pretty much

stayed home or were at the doctor's office. She is much better

now & is still on antibiotics so were good for now. Hopefully

we stay this way. We've been enjoying the summer heat,

fishing & swimming.

Pre-K Graduate

Last Friday my nephew, Tyler, graduated Pre-K.

We are so proud of him, he's such a smart little booger.

Right after his graduation I headed straight to the doctor's

office with Aleigha. She had a barky cough that would

not stop. She had croup :( She was just getting over

that & Tuesday night she started running high fever so we went

back to the doctor & her white count was 30,000...way to high.

So this little bacterial infection has caused her to get a shot

yesterday & 1 again today. She's feeling much better this

afternoon & I'm so thankful. I hate when my monkey is sick.

Other than that it has been an uneventful week. I hope

everyone has had a better week than us, I'm looking forward

to a very lazy weekend!

Today I am so thankful for this little blessing,

bringing the joy of motherhood into my life.

I don't even remember what life was like

before motherhood. I don't think theres

any better feeling than being called Mommy!

I love you so very much Aleigha.

And then there's my Mom. I am so lucky and

blessed to have such an amazing mother.
I can count on her no matter what. I dont

know where I would be without her.

2 Year Check-Up

On Friday we headed to the doctor for

Aleighas 2 year check-up

(yes i know we are a month late)

She was being such a little ham once we got

back in the room and she was so

curious about all the babies she could

hear crying in other rooms.

She weighed in at 29 lbs. and was 34" tall,

she's in the 75th percentile for kids her age

My BIG girl!

She only had to the Hepatitis shot this go

around and she handled it quite well.

I think it has to do with the fact that she knew

we were about to leave & she could get a

sucker on the way out :)

She's growing way to fast that it kinda makes

me a little sick at times. I don't want to take

any time with her for granted. I have the summer

off before starting nursing clinicals in August so

I plan on spending all of my time with this

little monkey.

What a weekend we had! On Friday night

we head to my parents for dinner, my brother

and nephew were there for the weekend so

Aleigha & Tyler got to play...until 11 pm...

she passed out on the way home.

Henry had a softball tournament on Saturday

so Aleigha & I headed back to my parents

to play a little.

They let Tyler ride the lawn mower & he wanted

to pull Aleigha in the wagon so bad, so we let him.

I left Aleigha and went home to get ready

for a crawfish boil some friends were having

and oh did we have fun. I don't think I've

laughed that much in a very long time.

On Sunday Aleigha came home early & went

spent the whole day out & about.

First we headed to the Boardwalk for a little

shopping. Here she is loving on Daddy.

I dont even bother bringing her stroller anymore

because she loves these little rent-a-cars.

We left there and headed to the park. The
water side opened up on the 1st & I forgot
so she didn't have her swimsuit on but it wouldn't
of mattered anyway. She would get close but
as soon as the water sprayed up she would
run right back to us. Maybe next time!

So we played in the sand instead.

Air Show

Yesterday we headed to the local air force base

for the annual air show. The weather was nice,

a little windy, but we had a great time. Aleigha

wasn't so sure when we first got there but she

warmed up quickly.

Wooohooo, I finally got my computer fixed,

something was stopping me from getting online

& we haven't been able to figure it out for over a week

but I fixed it this morning. I could of blogged from

Henry's computer but, well I've been lazy and

a little occupied with this busy little bee.

Kind of sad that she needs her

morning coffee like we do ;)

Papaw is still out of town working so Mamaw

has been spending quite a few night over here

with us and her & Aleigha spend alot of time

talking to Papaw on the phone

The other day Bentley took off towards the front

door and started barking, Aleigha got so excited

saying "Papaw's here", how cute....and sad!

We were watching DWTS Monday night and

she decided to show off a little with her dancing

Dareion came & spend last weekend with us

to see her cousin

The weather has been great the last few weeks

so we have spend alot of time outside doing

I have to say if this child loves one thing it
would be her bubbles!

And we've spend a little time inside....

I'm super glad it's Friday, we have a some what

busy weekend ahead. The anual air show is coming

to town so were taking the kids and Saturday night

is a very good friend's suprise birthday party!

Weekend in the Country

Every year we go to my Granny's while the

Battle of Pleasant Hill is going on. It's a reinactment

of the war from the 1800's. We had lots of fun

spending time with family. We got there

Friday night and just hung out outside by the fire.

On Saturday morning we all got ready & headed

downtown for the parade.

Waiting on the parade to start, we wouldn't

want him to get any darker would we?

I was looking forward to catching candy with Aleigha

but she had other plans. When she seen my brother, Tyler

and the rest of the crew ride by in the wagon she

immediately wanted to get on with them. So I let her go.

I guess being in the parade is more fun than

catching candy.

She played with Landry alot.

My little cousin Celeste...they had face painting

going on down at the festivities.

After a long day on Saturday she found an

empty chair by the fire and that's where she parked

it. It's rough being a kid & getting to play all day :)

wo you were as long as you would ride her
around she was your friend.

I told ya it's rough being a kid!

Finally everyone is gone on Sunday night and

she played the piano with Mamaw.

(My Mom really does play....by ear)

Trip to the Park

Monday afternoon it was so nice outside so

after I picked Aleigha up from daycare we

headed straight to the park. I'm so glad we

found this park a few weeks ago. It's less than

10 minutes from our house. It has a water side

to it as well that will start in May so I know

one little girl that will enjoy that.

Aleigha has her "independent" moments but for

the most part she is very dependent on us. She

doesn't venture to far and is constantly looking

up/around to make sure I'm in arms reach. I see all

of these kids running freely far away from their parents

but not my child. I have to be right there, every step

of the way. But I'm not complaing, it doesn't bother me

at all that I have to constantly be right there on my part

but for her sake I wish she could be a little more dependent.

The sand was bothering her & she noticed some

other kids had their shoes off so, off with the shoes.

And her favorite....not the slides or the tunnels,
nope this little rocking alligator chair.

She thought she could run up the slide like

the other kids. Yeah, that didn't turn out so well.

And after 2 hours she finally ventured and

started playing with one little girl. I did have

to remind her a few times that she needed to

share her sand toys, but she had fun.

So if mother nature permits we'll head back to the

park today or tomorrow. Hope everyone is having
